How to learn to dance without looking stupid

Many of us continually replay a specific memory over and over again in our heads. That memory which hits you the day after the night before.

The kind of memory where music is playing, leading to your toe tapping and then consuming your body, moving it in perfect harmony. You knew everything was too good to be true, and like always out of nowhere reality struck. That amazing feeling you had been experiencing was solely in your head and no matter what you did you remained sitting on that chair. Now the day after you are asking yourself, if I only knew how to approach the situation I would have felt so much more comfortable?

It’s ok we have all been there, the regret of not doing something that realistically could have made an experience, or even more importantly our life better.

So, by now you probably understand the message of this blog.

Manual handling within the working environment is big news these days. Health and Safety Executive 2016 report stated that 0.5 million workers have suffered from work related musculoskeletal disorders. This type of disorder most commonly occurs by moving items either by lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing or pulling in an awkward posture.

Have you suffered a manual handling work related injury of this nature? Knowing months prior that your working method had a high risk of causing injury. If so don’t make the same mistake twice.

Make sure that your employer is complying with The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR). This requires employers to manage the risks to their employees. They must:

– Avoid hazardous manual handling operations so far as is reasonably practicable, by redesigning the task to avoid moving the load or by automating or mechanising the process.

– Make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk of injury from any hazardous manual handling operations that cannot be avoided.

– Reduce the risk of injury from those operations so far as is reasonably practicable. Where possible, provide mechanical assistance.

We have just entered the New Year of 2017. Let’s make it injury free. Contact S-Craft today as “Preventing Injury and Increasing Efficiency” is our offering to you.
